Final Stats

The University of Texas-Pan American women's tennis program dropped a 6-1 decision to Nicholls State this Saturday (March 20) afternoon in Thibodaux, LA.

The women's team lost the doubles point as Nicholls State swept all three positions. At No. 1 doubles, Luisa Cantu and Megan Bedeau dropped an 8-0 decision to Florina Nosca and Natalia Zamora. At No. 2 doubles, Nina Ciric and Reetta Raty fell short 8-5 to Tatiana Denezhkina and Melissa Harrison. Sumana Kalyanasundarm and Sanja Stanojcic defeated Sarah Burton and Andrea Salvetova, 8-1, in No. 3 doubles.

The Lady Broncs lone victory came at No. 6 singles as Andrea Salvetova defeated Melissa Harrison 6-3, 6-3.

In No. 1 singles, Luisa Cantu was handed a 6-1, 6-1 loss by Nosca, while Bedeau fell 6-0, 6-2 to Zamora at No. 2 singles. Nina Ciric defaulted her match at No. 3 singles to Kalyanasundarm 6-3, 4-6, unf. after bad cramps in her legs and Reetta fell short to Denezhkina, 7-5, 6-4, at line four. Burton dropped her match, 6-2, 6-2, to Stanojcic at line five.

The Lady Broncs continue their busy weekend in Louisiana as they face Louisiana-Lafayette (3-6) tomorrow (March 21) morning at 10 at the Cajun Courts.
