UTPA WOMEN'S TENNIS SWEPT IN DALLAS

DALLAS. Texas- The University of Texas-Pan American women's tennis team had a rough showing to kick off their 2011 spring season as they fell to the No. 27 SMU Mustangs 7-0 on Fruday at Turpin Tennis Stadium.

The Mustangs earned victories in all three doubles poistion to win the double point for the match.

The Bronc struggles would continue in singles play as welll with UTPA winning just eight games for the day. SMU's Marta Lesniak, the nation's second-ranked player, downed Malin Anderson 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 1 singles line. UTPA's Reeta Raty  lost to Edyta Cieplucha  6-2, 6-1 at No. 2.

Zalina Nazarova lost her match to SMU's Heather Steinbauer 6-2, 6-0. The Broncs then lost the last two matches 6-0 and 6-0.

The Broncs continue their weekend road trip tomorrow when they take on TCU in Ft. Worth.
