EVANSTON, Illinois- The University of Texas-Pan American men's basketball team will continue their road trip to open the 2011-12 season as they travel to Evanston, Illinois to face off against the Northwestern Wildcats Sunday night in a national televised game at the Welsh-Ryan Arena with tip off scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
The game will air on the Big Ten Network. For those of you with Time Warner Cable it will be channel 322 and for those with Direct TV the game will be aired on channel 610.
The Broncs (0-1) are coming off of a 91-72 loss to DePaul University on Friday night at the McGrath-Phillips Arena. After falling behind in the first half 46-33, the Broncs rallied to within five points in the second half.
Jesus Delgado converted on a fast break layup to make the score 53-48 in favor of DePaul. The Blue Demons then pulled away with a 16-3 run later in the second half.
Brandon Provost finished the night with 16 points and eight rebounds.
Jared Maree chipped in 14 points and
Ruben Cabrera added 12 on five-of-six shooting from the floor.
This is the third season coach Ryan Marks and the Broncs have taken on the Wildcats and the second time in Chicago. The Broncs hope to capitalize on the road with a win over the wildcats tomorrow.
Northwestern leads the all-time series 6-0 and the Broncs dropped their last meeting 55-68 at home on December 8
th at the UTPA Fieldhouse.
