BRONCS FALL ON THE ROAD TO SLC FOE UT-ARLINGTON

ARLINGTON, Texas - The Univerity of Texas-Pan American men's tennis team suffered their third straight Southland Conference loss on Friday afternoon as they dropped a tight 4-3 decision to the University of Texas-Arlington. 

UTA (9-7, 1-2 SLC) started off with a 1-0 lead after recording wins in all three doubles flights. The Mavericks doubles team of Lucas Leppen and Brieuc Hamon were the first to register a win, earning an 8-5 decision against Sebastian Job and Matt Teivans.

The Broncs (1-10, 1-3 SLC)  Aswin Vijayaragavan knocked off UTA's Mindugas Celedinas 6-4, 6-2. In the second flight Beau Bernstein swept past Lucas Leppen 6-2, 6-4 and Matt Teivans won the fourth flight over Erik Hjertonsson 6-1, 7-6.

Yauheni Yakauleu's 6-4, 6-3, win over Ricardo Hopker clinched the victory for UTA.

The Broncs return to action on Wednesay when they face Texas A&M in College Station. Match time is scheduled for noon.
