CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs women's tennis team lost 6-0 to the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Islanders in day two of the Islanders Women's Team Shootout on Saturday at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center.
Only four singles matches were played as the Broncs (2-7) defaulted in the No. 5 and No. 6 positions. The doubles portion of the match was not played either.
The Islanders (8-2) took all four singles matches in straight sets.

Dana Nazarova 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 1 spot.
Doris Kuselj dispatched
Wanda Beguelin 6-2, 6-3 in the No. 2 position.
Stefania Nicolae topped
Cindy Sands 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 3 spot.
Chelsea Horan defeated Bianca Garcia Izaguirre 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 4 position.
The Broncs return home to face the University of Maryland Baltimore County on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Orville Cox Tennis Center.
The University of Texas-Pan American Department of Intercollegiate Athletics competes at the NCAA Division I classification. UTPA, formerly known as Pan American College and Pan American University, is a part of the University of Texas System of Schools. The Broncs compete in 14 varsity sports; men's and women's basketball, golf, tennis, track and field, and cross country, along with women's volleyball and men's baseball. In 1963, then known as Pan American College, the Broncs men's basketball program won the NAIA National Championship with a 73-62 victory over Western Carolina. In 2008 UTPA joined the new all-sports division of the Great West Conference.
