Men's Tennis Faces No. 12 Texas A&M on Sunday

COLLEGE STATION
– The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs men's tennis team kicks off its dual-match season against the No. 12 Texas A&M Aggies on Sunday at the Mitchell Tennis Center.
 
Last Time Out
The Broncs wrapped up their fall season at the ITA Regionals on Nov. 19.
 
Sophomore Mauricio Fosado defeated Rice's David Warren 1-6, 6-2, 7-6 (5) in the opening round of the main draw.
 
In doubles, the team of Sebastien Job and Alejandro Sanoja defeated Abilene Christian's team of Nico Agritelley and Jason Proctor 8-3 in the opening round of the main draw.
 
The Broncs competed in three fall tournaments.
 
Scouting the Aggies
The Aggies went 19-13 last season and advanced to the NCAA Round of 16. They return six members from last season's squad including junior Jeremy Efferding and sophomore Harrison Adams, who are ranked No. 13 and No. 19 respectively. Shane Vinsant, who is ranked No. 38, returns for his junior season after posting a 20-8 record in 2013.
 
The Aggies open their dual-match season against the Louisiana at Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns before facing off against the Broncs.
 
The Series
This is the 17th meeting between the Broncs and the Aggies. The Broncs are 2-14 against the Aggies with the Broncs dropping their last meeting 6-1 in College Station in 2011.  
 
Globetrotters
The Broncs have eight student-athletes representing six countries including, Argentina, Brazil, Belgium, India, Mexico and the United States. Sanoja is from the Rio Grande Valley as he calls Mission home.  
 
Next Up
The Broncs host the University of Maryland Baltimore County in their home opener on Jan. 24 at the Orville Cox Tennis Center at 2 p.m.
