EDINBURG – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs men's tennis dropped their home opener 0-7 to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns on Saturday at the Orville Cox Tennis Center.
 
The Cajuns (2-1) started off doubles with a win as the team of Damian Farinola and Edgar Lopez beat the Broncs' duo of Ivar Aramburu and Mauricio Fosado, 6-2 in the No. 2 doubles spot. The team of Sebastien Job and Alejandro Sanoja tied their match in the No.1 doubles spot against Rick de Groot and Jake Wynan before falling 6-4, giving the doubles point to the Cajuns.
 
In singles, the Cajuns won all six matches to clinch the match. Chetan Panditi and Sanoja took their matches to tie breakers as Panditi dropped the first set 2-6 to Faranola before taking the second set 6-2. He then dropped the tiebreaker 1-6.
 
Sanoja got the upper hand on Jarred Wynan in the No. 5 singles spot as he took the first set 6-3. He dropped the second set 3-6 before falling in the tiebreaker 5-7.
 
The Broncs are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 10 a.m. when they host Oral Roberts University at the Orville Cox Tennis Center.
