BEAUMONT – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs men's tennis team fell 4-3 to the Nicholls State University Colonels in a neutral match at the Thompson Family Tennis Center on Friday.
 
The Broncs (3-10) picked up a win in doubles as the team of Ricardo Hopker and Chetan Panditi defeated the duo of Evan Karatzas and Sam Meessen 8-3 at No. 1 doubles. The Colonels (8-6) went on to win at No. 2 and 3 doubles to clinch the point.
 
In singles, Juan Cruz Soria notched a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 win over Partha Adavelly at the No. 1 position. Sebastien Job also picked up a 6-2, 7-6 win over Bernard Wezeman at No. 3 singles. Ricardo Hopker got the 7-5, 6-4 victory over Karatzas at No. 5 singles but the Colonels got victories at the N. 2, 4 and 6 positions to clinch the match.
 
The Broncs will continue their road trip as they face Rice University on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Thompson Family Tennis Center.
