SAN ANTONIO – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs women's tennis team dropped their neutral site match 1-6 to the Nicholls State University Colonels on Friday at the Mabry Tennis Center, located on the campus of the University of the Incarnate Word.
The Broncs (7-10) picked up a doubles victory at court one as the team of
Katia Stavroulaki and
Reegan Greenwood defeated Stephanie Barnett and Klara Skopac 8-5. The Colonels (12-3) recorded wins on courts two and three to clinch the point.
The Colonels went on to win five of the six singles matches to take the match but the Broncs recorded their lone point on court five. Sophomore
Mariana Ranzahuer dropped her first set to Katia Jordan 3-6. She bounced back with a win in the third set 7-6 and then went on to win the tiebreaker 10-6 to win the match.
The Broncs are back in action on April 3 when they continue conference play against New Mexico State in a neutral site match in Phoenix, Arizona.
