EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Saturday that it has entered into a partnership with adidas to be the official athletic footwear, apparel and accessory brand of the Vaqueros.
 
"This is an exciting time at our university, and with a new name, a new mascot and new colors, adidas is the right company that will help take UTRGV into a new era for Division I athletics in the Rio Grande Valley," UTRGV Director of Athletics Chris King said. "Using adidas apparel will provide UTRGV Athletics the best opportunity to make a strong first impression as our teams travel to contests and tournaments across the nation representing the Rio Grande Valley. We look forward to working with adidas for many years to come."
