EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley women's soccer team kicks off the season with the UTRGV Invitational by hosting Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in the first match of the South Texas Showdown, presented by Navy Army Community Credit Union, on Friday at 7 p.m. at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.

It's the second match of the day, as UNLV faces Fairleigh Dickinson at 4.

Gates open at 3.
