HARLINGEN – Junior Yehontan Kaufman and freshman Zane Kohrs closed out play for the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley men's tennis team in the second round of the qualifying singles draw at the Harlingen International Tennis Federation Futures event on Sunday at the H-E-B Tennis Center.
 
Kaufman faced off against Jody Maginley in the second round as he took his match to three sets. Kaufman opened with a 6-4 win in the first set and then went back-and-forth in the second set before falling 5-7 and then falling 1-6 in the third.
 
Kohrs went up against Isaiah Strode in the second round as he fell 0-6, 1-6 to wrap up his weekend.
 
UTRGV will be back in action on October 19 when they travel to College Station for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Tournament.
