COLLEGE STATION – The duo of senior Elliot Johnstone and junior Yehonatan Kaufman finished runner up in the doubles consolation bracket to close out the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional tournament on Sunday at Mitchell Tennis Center.
 
Johnstone and Kaufman advanced to the finals of the doubles consolation final after UT Arlington's Pedro Nuez and Mauricio del Rio walked over to forfeit the match.
 
In the finals, Johnstone and Kaufman faced off against Rice's Oscar Janglin and Eric Rutledge where they fell 3-8.
 
UTRGV has wrapped up their fall portion of their schedule and will now prepare for the spring season, which begins on January 14 at Rice University.
