EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) women's soccer team won its lone exhibition match of the season, 2-0 over St. Mary's on Sunday at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.

UTRGV opens the regular season on Friday at 7 p.m. against Prairie View A&M at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex as part of the UTRGV Tournament. CSU Bakersfield plays Sam Houston State in the first match of the day at 4 p.m.
It's Youth Soccer Night. Kids 13 years and under receive free admission with the purchase of an adult ticket. The first 150 kids in attendance will receive a UTRGV spirit pack that includes a drawstring backpack, wristband, sticker, temporary tattoo, and pom pom.
UTRGV will also be continuing its School Supplies Drive. Any fans donating five new, unopened school supplies items will receive a free ticket. Current UTRGV students, who already receive free admission, will receive a free concession stand item.

No. 2 pencils
Crayons
Markers
3-ring binders
Scissors
Rulers
Glue sticks
All donations benefit the Rainbow Room, a resource center that provides emergency supplies to children and families served by Child Protective Services in Hidalgo County.
The match also features UTRGV's first Friday Night Fútbol promotion, as fan will receive soccer stress balls while supplies last.
