EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) women's soccer team fell to an RGV FC Academy boys' team 4-0 in a friendly on Sunday at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
UTRGV attempted 11 shots, including six on goal, in addition to one corner kick.
Sophomore
Kinga Szemik made four saves in the first half while freshman
Maile Lunardi made four saves in the second half.
RGV FC Academy scored twice in the first half, including in the 16
th minute on a free kick and in the 40
th minute on a rebound opportunity.
RGV FC Academy scored again on a bouncing ball in the 57
th minute and through traffic in the 61
st minute.
UTRGV and the RGV FC Academy boys' team face each other again on Feb. 25 at 1 p.m. at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
