KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men's tennis team dropped its second Western Athletic Conference match of the season after falling 0-7 to Grand Canyon University (GCU) on Friday at Plaza Tennis Center.
UTRGV (8-10, 0-2 WAC) fell behind early in the match as GCU (14-4, 2-0 WAC) swept through doubles. The duo of freshman Zane Kohrs and senior
Elliot Johnstone forced a tiebreaker on court two but fell 7-5.
In singles, GCU won on every court to close out the match. Sophomore Dennis Boisseau took the opening set from Mathieu Rajaonah 6-3 on court one before falling in the final two sets.
UTRGV will return home on Tuesday, April 3, when it hosts Laredo Community College at 1:30 p.m. at the Orville Cox Tennis Center in its final home match of the season.
