Second Day Results

WACO – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's tennis team added a pair of victories on the second day of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Tournament, hosted by Baylor University, on Saturday at Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center.
 
Junior Carlo Izurieta picked up both victories for the Vaqueros in the singles consolation draw. Izurieta defeated SMU's Jack kite 6-2, 6-1 in the round of 64 and then advanced to the round of 32 where he defeated Prairie View A&M's Kevin Ugarteche 6-0, 6-4 to advance to the round of 16.
 
Izurieta will face Abilene Christian's Jonathan Sheehy for a spot in the quarterfinals of the consolation draw. 
 
Junior Zane Kohrs also advanced to the round of 16 on a walk over by Abilene Christian's Sebastian Langdon. Kohrs will face the winner between SMU's Avery Pennywell and Baylor's Rahul Dhokia.
 
Play continues on Sunday starting at 10 a.m. with doubles.
