Barbara Kruger, were honored at a separate ceremony on Nov. 8 in conjunction with the home men's basketball game against Oklahoma, where Kruger currently coaches.
Gary Doyle, Baseball, 1971-72
Shut out Texas in Austin to clinch 1971 NCAA District VI Championship and program's first berth in College World Series … Beat Seton Hall in second game of College World Series … 1971 All-District VI selection … Tossed a then-program record-tying 11 complete games in 1972, now tied for the ninth-highest single-season total in program history … Racked up 101 strikeouts in 1971, then the fourth-highest single-season total, now tied for eighth … Threw 20 complete games in career, then the second-highest total and now tied for eighth … Recorded a 1.50 career ERA, then the second-best mark and now the sixth … Pitched one-hitters in victories over Rice (1971) and Union (1972).
"48 years ago yesterday is the first time I put on the Broncs uniform," Doyle said. "It was such as an honor to be part of that team. I'm proud of where I went to school, where it's gone to and where it's headed. When I was here, we had professors that helped you and cared about you. I think it was destiny for me come to Pan American. I was part of 84 wins. We set NCAA records for double plays and with 54 consecutive shutout innings. We were ranked No. 1 in the nation in four different weeks. It had nothing to do with what I did, though, it's because we cared about each other."
Rob Hubbard, Men's Tennis, 1975-78
Participated in the NCAA Singles Championship in 1977 … Participated in the NCAA Doubles Championship with Ricardo Eynavdi in 1977 … Helped team achieve a top-10 national ranking in 1978 … Joined the ATP Tour in 1978 and was ranked as high as 290
thin the world … Participated in the 1979 and 1980 U.S. Opens … Two-time USTA National Champion … Selected to represent the United States at the Italia Cup, which was a 35-and-over Davis Cup competition … USPTA Maryland Pro of the Year in 2000 and was the USPTA Mid-Atlantic 35-and-over Player of the Year during his elite playing career … Returned to UTPA as the men's and women's tennis head coach from 2005-06 through 2007-08, posting a 30-30 record in women's tennis, including 15-8 in 2007-08.

Fred Taylor and more. When I was here, we established Pan American as one of the top 25 teams in the country and I want to thank Coach Connor for taking a chance on a raw recruit and allowing me to be a part of that."
Elizabeth Ortega-Hilpert, Women's Track & Field and Cross Country, 1991-96
•Cross Country: Ran the two fastest times in the 5,000-meter race in program history with time of 17:34.00 and 17:39.00 in 1995 … First woman in the history of program to qualify for the NCAA Division I National Cross Country Championship held in Ames, Iowa in 1995 and placed 76
th… Regional Cross Country qualifier, Sun Belt Conference Cross Country Champion and MVP, and All-Sun Belt Conference Cross Country Performer in 1995 … Most Valuable Cross Country Athlete in 1995, and member of the 1995 All District VI University Cross-Country Team … Three-time All-Sun Belt Conference Cross Country Performer.
•Indoor Track & Field: Ran the second fastest mile run and 3,000-meter race with times of 5:05.07 and 9:57.94 respectively in 1996 … Recorded the fifth fastest time in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:18.65 in 1993 … Was the 1996 Indoor Track & Field Sunbelt Conference 3,000-meter run Champion and mile run runner-up… Named Indoor Track & Field All-SBC Performer in 800-meter run, mile run, and 3,000-meter run.
•Outdoor Track & Field: Holds program record in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:09.66 in 1993 … Ran what was then the second fastest 1,500-meter race (now third) in program history with a 4:36.57 in 1996 … Recorded the second fastest 3,000-meter run in program history with a time of 9:56.87 in 1996 … Ranks second in fastest 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:26.20 in 1996… Was the Sun Belt Track & Field 800 meter Champion and 1,500-meter runner-up in 1993, as well as Outdoor Track & Field All-SBC in the 800-meter run, 1,500-meter run, 3,000-meter run and 5,000-meter run.
•Featured on ESPN for both individual and team accomplishments … Named UTPA Female Student-Athlete of the Year in 1993 and 1996 … Three-time Academic All-Conference honoree … Recipient of the Ann LaMantia Award … Graduated Magna Cum Laude.
"Today is especially meaningful because it gives me the opportunity to recognize so many people who have been an important part of my life," Ortega-Hilpert said. "It means so much to me to have so many of my teammates here today to help me celebrate."
Jaclyn (Muszynski) Riley, Volleyball, 2000-03
Career program record holder in kills (1,629), digs (1,387) and sets played (470), ranks second in 20+ dig matches (15), attacks (4,555) and attacks per set (9.70), third in kills per set (3.47), service aces (115), and ninth in digs per set (2.95) …Recorded three of the top 12 single-season kills totals in program history (tied for second with 460 in 2003, ranks fourth with 453 in 2002, and 12
thwith 386 in 2001) and twice averaged 3.74 kills per set (2002 and 2003), tied for the sixth-highest totals … Recorded ninth-highest digs total with 395 in 2003 … Recorded fourth most kills for a freshman in program history with 330 in 2000, as well as the third most attacks (913) and digs (294) … Four-time All-Independent First Team selection … Two-time UTPA Female Student-Athlete of the Year (2001 and 2003) … 2001 Independent Offensive Player of the Year.
"I had some reservations about moving halfway across the country to come here initially, but I was greeted with a very warm introduction and I fell in the love with the warmth of the people in the Rio Grande Valley," Riley said. "My coach, David Thorn, helped me to identify how academics were just as important as athletics which has led me to a successful career. No matter where I live, I always remember the kind and humble people that helped me to become the woman I am today."
Fredy Sanguinetti, Men's Soccer, 1988-91
As a senior in 1991, ranked second in the Midwest region with program record seven shutouts after going 10-5-1 with 1.31 goals against average and .840 save percentage. Believed to have the lowest goals against average in program history at 1.49. Currently the head girls' soccer coach at Cinco Ranch High School.
"This is one of the greatest days of my life," Sanguinetti said. "My parents sold everything they owned so we could come from South America to chase the American dream. And I want to tell everyone that everything is achievable. Just never give up."
