Kyra Keurentjes set a new personal record in the 800-meter run after crossing the finish line with a time of 2:11.34 to lead The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) women's track and field team on Friday at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
Keurentjes finished in 49
thout of 120 total runners as her new personal record ranks second fastest in program history. She surpassed her previous personal best time of 2:16.96 that was set in the South Texas Showdown, presented by Navy Army Community Credit Union.
UTRGV will be back in action on Saturday for the Beach Invite while the rest of the team will be competing at the J. Fred Duckett Rice Twilight in Houston.
