LONG BEACH, Calif. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men's and women's track & field team wrapped up its annual west coast trip with a trio of races at the Beach Invitational on Saturday.
 
Senior Los Fresnos alum Jennifer Zapata and freshman Dorcas Koech competed in the women's 1,500-meter run. Zapata finished in 35^thwith a time of 4:46.75 while Koech finished in 41^stwith a time of 4:48.35. Both Zapata and Koech finished in the top half of the 87 competitor list.
 
Senior Omer Almog finished in 52^ndin the men's 1,500-meter run after crossing the finish line with a time of 4:05.62.
 
Freshman Kyra Keurentjes posted a 36^thplace finish in the women's 800-meter run out of 91 runners with a time of 2:14.81.
 
UTRGV will wrap up the weekend as it competes at the J. Fred Duckett Twilight today.
