Women's Soccer Falls at No. 15 Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) women's soccer team fell 5-0 against No. 15 Texas A&M University on Sunday at Ellis Field.
 
Texas A&M (7-1-2) got off to a quick start as Ásdís Halldórsdóttir took a pass from Ally Watt and scored her second goal of the season for the 1-0 lead at the 3:11 mark. 
 
Later in the half, Addie McCain took the pass from Jimena Lopez to score her fourth goal of the season at 18:59 giving Texas A&M the 2-0 lead.
 
Texas A&M added three more goals in the second half with Halldórsdóttir adding another goal at 50:21, Jimena Lopez scoring at 79:29, and Abby Grace Cooper scoring at 83:53.
 
UTRGV (4-3-1) was out shot 30-6 and 17-1 on goal with senior Kinga Szemik (4-3-1) making a career-high 12 saves.
 
UTRGV will return home on Thursday, September 26, to host Texas Lutheran at 7 p.m. at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
