Women's Tennis Adds Isabelle Bahr for 2020-21

RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Women's Tennis Head Coach West Nott announced on Friday the addition of Isabelle Bahrfor the 2020-21 academic season.
 
"I have a deep respect for how Isabelle goes about her business on and off the court, always willing to go the extra mile, putting in the extra effort required to be at her best," Nott said. "She is relentless, does not give up, and I believe she will elevate people around her. She comes from a wonderful set of parents and we are lucky to have her come all the way from California to be a part of our tennis program."
 
Bahr, originally from Redding, California, enters her senior year at Foothill High School where she has lettered in tennis for three years. Bahr was the first female tennis player to win a section title for Foothill High School while going undefeated throughout her sophomore season. Bahr also finished second in her section in doubles after finishing second in her league and section in singles as a freshman. 
 
Bahr also plays club tennis with Team Ascension out of Sun Oaks Tennis and Fitness Club where she has seen her fair share of success. This fall, Bahr won the 61stAnnual Umpqua Valley Tennis Championship while reaching the semifinals of the NorCal Junior Fall Sectional Championships and the Diamond Hills Junior Championships.
 
Over the summer, Bahr won the Gold River Junior Championships and was able to compete at the Ascension Project Women's Pro Tournament.
 
Bahr joins Lea Karren as part of this year's signing class for the Vaqueros.
