RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's soccer team played Monterrey Tech to a 1-1 draw on Saturday at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex. 
 
Shentatious Knox accounted for UTRGV's lone goal as she took the pass from Emily Zapata and found the back of the net. 
 
UTRGV head coach Glad Bugariu was happy to see the things that the squad worked on come out on the pitch against Monterrey Tech. 
 
"It was a good test today," Bugariu said. "We got what we wanted from the game. We saw some of the things we worked on in training, especially in the first half. I was happy with the effort and work rate from the team out there today."
 
UTRGV will have some time off before getting back on the pitch when it visits Incarnate Word on February 22.
