RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's tennis team returns to the court when it hosts Laredo Community College on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Orville Cox Tennis Center. 
 
Admission is free and fans are encouraged to attend. Gates open at 1 p.m. 
 
Last Time Out

• UTRGV (0-4) fell 1-6 to Corpus Christi.
• UTRGV sent out this lineup in singles: No. 1 Samuel de Felipe Garcia, No. 2 Carlo Izurieta, No. 3 Te Kani Williams, No. 4 Alberto Mello, No. 5 Zane Kohrs, No. 6 Mateo Schmit.
• In doubles, UTRGV sent out this lineup: No. 1 Carlo Izurieta and Alberto Mello, No. 2 Michael Loyd and Samuel de Felipe Garcia, No. 3 Zane Kohrs and Mateo Schmit.
• Kohrs and Schmit recorded their first win in doubles by defeating Kyohei Yamanaka and Carlos Berna Ruiz.
• Kohrs also recorded his first singles win of the season by defeating Pascal Lorieul at No. 5 singles.

• UTRGV is 29-7 all-time against Laredo Community College.
• The series dates back to 1982.
• Laredo Community College won 5-2 in last year's match up.
• The last time UTRGV defeated Laredo Community College came back on Apr. 3, 2018 after picking up the 6-1 victory at the Orville Cox Tennis Center.

Scouting Laredo Community College

• Laredo College is coming off of a 7-0 victory over Our Lady of the Lake University back on Feb. 5.
• Laredo College welcome's back Mauricio Grijalva, Adrian Martinez, Rodrigo Mere, and Juan Ramirez. 
• They welcome in Jorge Abreu, Nicolas Dominguez, Gonzalo Iojes, and Diego Orduz.

 
Doubles Team of the Week Honors

• Zane Kohrs and Mateo Schmit earned the team's first WAC honor of the spring. 
• The duo recorded the team's first doubles victory of the season with its win over Yakanama and Ruiz last week. 
• It's the second WAC award of the year as Samuel de Felipe Garcia took home the WAC Player of the Month honor for the month of September.
