AUSTIN – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's soccer team fell 7-0 to the University of Texas Longhorns on Sunday at Mike A. Myers Stadium and Soccer Field. 
 
The Vaqueros (3-4-1) kept the match close as they allowed a goal to Julia Grosso in the 18^th minute keeping the score at 1-0 at the end of the first half. 
 
The Longhorns (2-3-1) opened the scoring in the second half as they got four goals from Lexi Missimo in the 56^th, 64^th, 65^th, and 72^nd minutes. Trinity Byars added a goal in the 61^st minute while Cameron Brooks scored a goal in the 71^st minute. 
 
Graduate student Maile Lunardi (2-3-1) made seven saves in the match.
 
The Longhorns outshot the Vaqueros 29 to 6 and 14 to 0 on goal. 
 
The Vaqueros will be back in action on Wednesday, September 15, when they return home to host Our Lady of the Lake University at 7 p.m. at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
