MANHATTAN, Kan. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's soccer team fell 2-0 to the Kansas State Wildcats on Sunday at Buser Family Park in their non-conference finale.
The Wildcats (5-4) jumped out to the 1-0 lead in the 19
th minute when Brookelynn Entz found Marisa Weichel in the box as she snuck it past UTRGV goalie
Maile Lunardi (2-4-1).
Later in the first half, the Wildcats got a goal from Porter List in the 36
th minute as she took the deflection from a Roo Yarnell-Williams shot and put it in the back of the goal for the 2-0 lead.
That would be all the scoring the Vaqueros (4-5-1) would allow as Lunardi made a career-high 10 saves in the match, including a pair in the second half.
