Additionally, Nelson was also named to the 2021-22 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball First Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, in February, and the Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association (DI-AAA ADA) 20th Annual Scholar-Athlete Team, presented by ARMS Software. Nelson graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance during the summer of 2021.

This is Lawrence-Anderson's fifth academic award after earning 2020-21 Academic All-WAC and a spot on the AD Honor Roll three times in four semesters.
