RIO GRANDE VALLEY – There are currently at least 14 players who previously played for the UTRGV men's basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here is an update on home some of them are doing, courtesy of Eurobasket:
 
Janari Joesaar (2014-15) scored 13 points with five rebounds to lead Anwil Wloclawek to a season opening 82-61 victory over Enea Zastal in the Polish EBL on Sunday.
 
Luis Valera (2008-10) scored five points with five rebounds to help Gigantes de Guayana beat Guaiqueries 91-88 in the Venezuelan SPB on Monday. Valera is averaging 7.7 points and 3.8 rebounds in 23 games.
 
Terry Winn III (2017-19) scored 29 points with 23 rebounds, as the Basketball Akademie Giessen 46ers fell at Saarlouis 64-58 in the season opener.

Johnny Crnogorac (2017-19) plays for Inner West Bulls in Australian NBL1 East
Isaiah Fontaine (2018-20) plays for Atleticos de San German in Puerto Rican BSN.
Shaquille Hines (2012-16) signed with Medipolis Science City Jena in German ProA
Jordan Jackson (2017-20) plays with Ginásio Clube Figueirense Basketball in Portugal's Proliga.
Javon Levi (2017-21) signed with Dubrovnik in Croatian Prva Liga
Xavier McDaniel Jr. (2016-18) plays for Flint United in The Basketball League.
Perry Petty (2010-11) plays for Gorgan in Iranian Superleague
Lew Stallworth (2015-18) plays for Tskhum-Abkhazeti in Georgian Superleague
Paul Stoll (2006-08) plays for Fuerza Regia de Monterrey in Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Professional and recently led Team Mexico in the 2022 FIBA AmeriCup.
Lesley Varner II (2016-20) signed with the Newcastle Eagles of the British Basketball League.
