RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Monday that junior Isabelle Bahr and sophomore Marjorie Souza, of the women's tennis team, are the Killers Golf UTRGV Student-Athletes of the Week.
 
Bahr and Souza teamed up in doubles last week and went 2-0 to lead the charge for the Vaqueros in doubles play. 
 
The duo picked up a 6-4 win at the No. 2 doubles spot over Tarleton's Elsa Boisson and Emma Persson giving UTRGV their lone doubles win. 
 
Bahr and Souza came up clutch for the Vaqueros against Abilene Christian as they picked up the 7-6 win over Masha Vrsalovic and Olivia Sears at the No. 1 doubles spot. The win helped the Vaqueros clinch the doubles point giving them the 1-0 advantage. 
 
On the season, Bahr and Souza are 8-1 in doubles while posting a 2-0 record in Western Athletic Conference (WAC) play. They are on a three-match winning streak. 
 
The Vaqueros are back in action Friday when they host Grand Canyon University at 10 a.m. at the Orville Cox Tennis Center for another WAC matchup.
