RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's golf team finished in ninth place at the Vaqueros Invitational on Tuesday at McAllen Country Club. 
 
The Vaqueros finished with a three-round score of 911 after posting a final round team score of 306. 
 
Freshman Natalia Rodriguez posted UTRGV's best finish as she tied for 25^th with a three-round score of 224 after a final round 76. Senior Mercedes Vega finished tied for 34^th with a three-round score of 227 after posting a final round 76. 
 
Freshman Preston Saiz finished tied for 39^th and just two shots back of Vega with a three-round score of 229 after carding a final round 78. Freshman Camilla Herrera came in 46^th with a three-round score of 231 after posting a final round 76. 
 
Junior and Edinburg High alum Madi Ozuna finished in 55^th with a three-round 238 after turning in a final round 79. Junior Catherine Flores finished tied for 36^th with a three-round score of 228 after shooting a final round 76 and junior Cristina Galban finished tied for 53^rd with a three-round score of 237 after a final round 80. 
 
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi won the team trophy with a three-round score of 853 after finishing with a final round 288. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's Samantha Gibbs took home the individual trophy with a three-round score of 201 after a final round 66. 
 
The Vaqueros will be back in action from April 8-10 when they tee it up at the Bobcat Desert Classic, hosted by Montana State in Goodyear, Arizona.
