GREENVILLE, S.C. – Sophomore outside hitter
Nadine Zech was named the most valuable player (MVP) of the Furman Invitational Saturday after leading The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros volleyball team to a 3-0 weekend with wins over Charlotte, Furman and Charleston Southern.
Zech finished the tournament with a team-high 39 kills on .375 hitting, averaging 4.33 kills per set. She contributed 5.06 points per set while collecting five aces and 23 digs. Zech had a career performance Friday against Furman, notching a double-double with 20 kills and 16 digs, both career highs. She led UTRGV's offensive attack in two matches.

Perris Key were named to the All-Tournament Team.
Costantini ran the offense well, pushing the tempo and using a variety of weapons to score in different ways. She tallied 110 assists, averaging 11.00 assists per set, and notched seven aces. Costantini collected 27 digs over the weekend and had a double-double Friday against Furman, recording a career-high 55 assists and 10 digs.
Key shifted over to the middle blocker position and turned in a balanced performance through the weekend. She recorded 15 kills and four aces, contributing 2.15 points per set. Key had six digs and four blocks throughout the tournament.
The Vaqueros will be back in action Sept. 6-7 at the co-hosted Zips/CSU Invitational in Ohio to face Wyoming, Cleveland State and Akron.
