USAF, Colo. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's swimming and diving program came up short against Air Force, Northern Colorado, and Colorado School of Mines Saturday at the Air Force Quad Meet at Cadet Natatorium in USAF, Colo.
 
The Vaqueros picked up three top-five finishes and 12 top-10 finishes on Saturday.
 
Freshman Annaleagh Stahl finished fourth in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:09.44 and fifth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:00.06. Stahl also finished seventh in the 200 individual medley.
 
Meanwhile, junior Delaney Murphy earned fifth in the 3-meter springboard with a score of 228.55 while finishing sixth in the 1-meter springboard.
 
In the 100 breaststroke, freshman Alexia Gonzalez finished in ninth with a time of 1:24.57 and freshman Caitlynn Rubio finished in 10^th.
 
Sophomore Olivia Votava took 10^th in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:47.99.
 
In the 200 medley relay, Stahl, Votava, sophomore Hailey Garcia-Rivas, and freshman Sarah Garcia finished in ninth with a time of 1:56.01 while freshmen Lauren Uribe, Diara Aleman, Gonzalez, and Audrey Trevino finished in 10^th.
 
In the 400 freestyle relay, freshman Madiana Lofgren, sophomores AJ Rogers and Chloe Siegrist, and Garcia picked up ninth while freshmen Audrey Trevino, Caitlyn Brown, Rubio, and Abygail Martinez finished in 10^th.
 
Up next, the Vaqueros will return home to take on the North Texas Mean Green at the City of Pharr-PSJA Natatorium from Jan. 24-25. Day one will start at 5 p.m. while day two will start at 11 a.m.
