RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) women's tennis team unveiled its spring schedule Friday, which features eight home matches including a non-conference contest against Texas State.
 
"This is one of the toughest schedules we've had since I started at UTRGV," head women's tennis coach West Nott said. "We're excited to compete as hard as we can and make it as tough on our opponents as possible, so that when we play opponents at our level, we can go and get some good wins."
 
The Vaqueros will open the season strong as they head to Lubbock for two matches, starting with Abilene Christian on Jan. 18 then Texas Tech on Jan. 19. They will continue their road trip with a two-match swing in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, beginning with UT Arlington on Jan. 24 and SMU on Jan. 25.
 
UTRGV will host their home opener against Texas State on Jan. 31 before hitting the road to visit Texas A&M-Kingsville on Feb. 1.
 
The Vaqueros will then head to Houston for another two-match swing as they will face New Mexico on Feb. 6 and Houston on Feb. 8.
 
UTRGV will then visit Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a nonconference battle for its first matchup of the South Texas Showdown, presented by Rally Credit Union, on Feb. 11.
 
The Vaqueros head to Austin for a matchup with Texas on Feb. 15 before coming back home to host Utah State on Feb. 19. UTRGV will then head to Baylor for a doubleheader on Feb. 21.
 
UTRGV opens conference play at home against Northwestern State on Feb. 28 and will round out the weekend with a match against Stephen F. Austin on March 2.
 
The Vaqueros will then pack up for their only trip outside the State of Texas when they visit Southeastern on March 7 and McNeese on March 9.
 
UTRGV returns home for a match against UT Permian Basin on March 12 before making their second trip to the capital to face Tarleton in a neutral site match on March 15.
 
The Vaqueros will return home on March 21 to take on Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for their second match in the South Texas Showdown, presented by Rally Credit Union.
 
UTRGV will complete their final road trip of the conference season when they visit Lamar on March 28 and Nicholls on March 30.
 
The Vaqueros will close out conference play at home with matches against New Orleans on April 4 and Nicholls on April 6.
 
UTRGV will visit UTSA for its regular season finale on April 11 before heading to the Southland Conference Tournament which will run from April 19-21 at Lamar's facilities in Beaumont.
