UTRGV Athletics Partners With 1st Tix To Provide Tickets to First Responders

RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is partnering with 1st Tix, powered by Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix), a nonprofit organization founded by veterans and dedicated to supporting and honoring those currently serving and retired law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, nurses and 911 Dispatchers, to help UTRGV season ticket holders who aren't using their basketball or baseball tickets to donate their tickets to first responders.

Tickets can be donated by using the ticket transfer feature in Showpass and sending them via email to donate@vettix.org. Ticket donations to 1st Tix are tax deductible and fans will receive an email confirming the benefits of their donation. For more details on the ticket transfer process, visit help.showpass.com.

Through this partnership, UTRGV Athletics supports 1st Tix's mission of providing tickets to events that reduce stress, strengthen family bonds, create lasting memories, and encourage first responders to stay engaged with their communities and American life. 1st Tix supports the brave men and women who answer our emergency calls by honoring their service with positive family and life experiences – during and after service – by offering free tickets to sporting events, concerts, performing arts, educational, and family activities across the country. Since 2008, Vet Tix has distributed over 30 million free event tickets to more than 2.4 million members nationwide.

Fans have 44 opportunities to donate their tickets as UTRGV has 11 home men's basketball games, 11 women's home basketball games, and 22 home baseball games left in the 2025-26 season.

Fans are encouraged to visit RallyTheValley.com for everything they need to know about attending games at UTRGV.
