RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) women's tennis program announced on Wednesday the 2025 fall schedule, featuring six fall tournaments.

"We all know each other, the trust is there, and we have a certain culture in place to keep building upon. We are choosing to play a highly competitive fall schedule to prepare us for the spring. We are trying to find as many opportunities to play elite players and continue pushing ourselves. I really like this group, they work hard with the right attitude, and now we just need to go out and fight like a pack of dogs. "
UTRGV will open the fall season with the Corpus Invite hosted by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi from Sept. 12-14.
The Vaqueros will then head to Rice for the Rice Invitational from Sept. 19-21.
UTRGV will take part in Texas State's River State Shoot-Out from Oct. 4-5.
Then, the Vaqueros' top players will take a swing at the nation's top championships as they compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Texas Regional in Fort Worth from Oct. 9-14 before heading to Northwestern State for the second-ever Southland Conference (SLC) Fall Championship from Oct. 23-26.
The inaugural SLC Fall Championship was hosted last year in response to the NCAA's two-year pilot program to host the men's and women's individual tennis championships in the fall seasons. All automatic qualifier-eligible Div. I conferences may hold a conference tournament to determine one singles player and one doubles team from each gender to advance to the 2025 ITA Conference Masters Championship.
From there, four singles players and three doubles teams from the masters tournament will qualify for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships, respectively.
The Vaqueros will close the 2025 fall season at the Baylor Invite from Nov. 6-9.
