RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The Southland Conference announced on Monday that junior first baseman
Armani Raygoza of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros baseball team earned Southland Conference Hitter of the Week honorable mention.
Raygoza hit .364/.500/1.000 in UTRGV's opening series vs. Kansas, going 4-for-11 with two home runs, one double, three walks, five RBI, and four runs scored. He opened the series by hitting a home run in a 7-4 win on Friday, added an RBI-double Saturday, and then scored a career-high tying three runs while going 2-for-4 with a 2-run home run Sunday.
