Swimming & Diving Excited to Host and Compete in First MPSF Championships This Week

RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros swimming & diving program is excited to host the 2026 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Swimming & Diving Championships this week. The meet will run from Wednesday-Saturday with all events being hosted at the City of Pharr-PSJA Natatorium.

This championship marks the third hosted by UTRGV s the 2023 and 2024 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Championships were hosted at the City of Pharr-PSJA Natatorium. However, this meet marks the first conference championship hosted by UTRGV in which its own program will compete.

"We are excited to host the championships in our first season as a member of the MPSF," UTRGV Head Swimming & Diving Coach Betsy Graham said. "It is a great honor to be entrusted with a competition of this magnitude, and we are looking forward to showcasing our Division I swimming and diving program in the Rio Grande Valley."

The Vaqueros will host 15 other programs from 12 institutions across the MPSF which include Air Force, California Baptist, Idaho, Incarnate Word, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, Pacific, Pepperdine, and University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Utah Tech, and Wyoming.

The Vaqueros enter with high hopes, led by sophomore Manou Meulebeek on the diving boards. Meulebeek has qualified for the NCAA Zone "D" Diving Championships in her first two years of collegiate diving. Meulebeek enters the championships with the highest score in the 1-meter springboard and the third-highest mark in the 3-meter springboard this season.
