CARLSBAD, Calif. – Freshman Jorge Martin Sampedro of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's golf team wrapped up play at the NCAA Championships with a third round three-over par 75 on Sunday at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa North Course.
 
Sampedro finished tied for 141^st with a three-round total of 231 missing the cut for the final round of individual play. Sampedro started on the back nine where he posted an even par 36 with three birdies, three bogeys, and three pars. He then carded a three-over 39 on the front nine with seven pars, one bogey, and a double bogey. 
 
Sampedro finished tied with four others, including Oklahoma's PJ Maybank III, who is ranked 128^th in the Scoreboard rankings. He did finish ahead of Vanderbilt's Michael Riebe, who is ranked 123^rd in the Scoreboard rankings. 
 
Below is a hole-by-hole breakdown of Sampedro's third round. 
 
Hole 10 - 596 yards Par 5
Sampedro hit driver off the tee and split the fairway right down the middle. He then hit an iron inside 100 yards and then hit a wedge to about five feet and made his birdie putt. 
 
Hole 11 - 355 yards Par 4
Sampedro hit a 2 iron off the tee that ended up in the fairway but came to rest in a divot. With 97 yards left, his ball came out hot of the divot and landed in the water. He then dropped and putted from the fringe to about six feet where he sank his putt for bogey. 
 
Hole 12 - 226 yards Par 3
Sampedro hit a 2 iron off the tee and drove it through the green. He then duffed his chip before chipping it to about three feet where he made his bogey putt. 
 
Hole 13 - 428 yards Par 
Sampedro hit a 2 iron off the tee to the left side of the fairway on the dogleg right. He then hit an iron to the green sticking it inside 15 feet where he drilled his birdie putt. 
 
Hole 14 - 517 yards Par 4
Sampedro hit driver off the tee to the right side of the fairway. He then hit a 3 wood just left of the green before getting up and down for par. 
 
Hole 15 - 371 yards Par 4
Sampedro hit a 2 iron to the right side of the fairway leaving him just 106 yards to the hole. He then hit a wedge to about 20 feet where he two-putted for par. 
 
Hole 16 - 162 yards Par 3
Sampedro hit a 9 iron onto the green and getting it to stop just about three feet away. He then lipped out his birdie putt and tapped in for par.
 
Hole 17 - 491 yards Par 4
Sampedro hit driver off the tee and put it in the right side of the fairway where he then hit a 9 iron just short of the green. He then putted from off the green, rolled it past the hole, missing his par putt and tapping in for bogey. 
 
Hole 18 - 597 yards Par 5
Sampedro piped his drive into the middle of the fairway. He then hit driver off the deck getting him over the hazard in front of the green. He then pitched to about five feet and drilled the birdie putt.
 
Hole 1 - 402 yards Par 4
Sampedro stripped a 2 iron down the middle of the fairway leaving him just 123 yards. He then hit a wedge pin high and about seven feet from the hole. His birdie putt missed just left and he tapped in for par.
 
Hole 2 - 622 yards Par 5
Sampedro hit his drive right of the fairway and into the fescue. He then hit an iron out into the fairway leaving him about 175 yards to the green. He hit a 7 iron to the middle of the green and two-putted for par.
 
Hole 3 - 190 yards Par 3
Sampedro hit a 7 iron off the tee and pulled left into a green side bunker. He splashed it out to about three feet missing his par putt and tapped in for bogey. 
 
Hole 4 - 383 yards Par 
Sampedro hit 2 iron off the tee and split the fairway in two. With 109 yards out, he hit a wedge onto the green and two-putted for par.
 
Hole 5 - 427 yards Par 4
Sampedro hit a 3 wood off the tee into the center of the fairway. He then hit an iron onto the green where he narrowly missed for birdie and tapped in for par. 
 
Hole 6 - 571 yards Par 5
Sampedro hit driver off the tee to the right edge of the fairway. Then he hit 3 wood over the fairway bunker leaving him a short wedge to the green. He then narrowly missed for birdie and tapped in for par. 
 
Hole 7 - 521 yards Par 4
Sampedro hit driver off the tee and left it on the right side of the fairway. He then left his second shot short of the green where he chipped to about three feet. He drained his par putt for the up-and-down.
 
Hole 8 - 203 yards Par 3
Sampedro hit his tee shot short of the green and into the bunker. He hit it out and ran it through the green into another bunker. He got it on the green and two-putted for double bogey. 
 
Hole 9 - 426 yards Par 4
Sampedro hit driver and left it just left of the fairway. From the rough, he hit the middle of the green and just missed his long birdie try to tap in for par closing out his round.
