RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Wednesday that football season tickets are sold out for the second-straight season.
UTRGV sold over 7,600 season tickets for 2026, up from about 7,000 season tickets for the inaugural season due to the expansion of Robert & Janet Vackar Stadium to a capacity of 13,498 from 12,000 in 2025. The south end zone expansion now allows UTRGV to dedicate over 3,300 seats in one central location to current UTRGV students.
The new season tickets were purchased by fans on the wait list, with 395 fans getting the opportunity to purchase over 500 new season tickets.
There are currently approximately 3,000 fans on the wait list requesting about 14,500 season tickets.
Fans looking to join the wait list can do so at
GoUTRGV.com/FootballWaitList. When openings for season tickets occur, fans are contacted in
Vaqueros Loyalty Points order.
The remaining new seats not sold as season tickets will be available as single-game tickets for every home game, significantly increasing the amount of available inventory for fans each week.
UTRGV will roll out a new single-game ticketing process later this summer with details as to how fans can secure tickets.
UTRGV welcomed 87,774 fans in 2025, the 11
th-best in FCS, across seven games for an average of 12,539 fan per game, which ranked 15
