RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's soccer team (3-2-0) plays on the road for the third time this season as they face the Sam Houston Bearkats (0-1-3) on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Prichett Field.

UTRGV defeated Texas A&M International (0-1) at home 1-0, at UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex, Sunday, Aug. 30.
 
In the 41^st minute, sophomore Amy Romero scored her first goal as a Vaquero, a header that hit the right side of the net. Sophomore Sienna Church launched a beautiful cross off a free kick from the right wing to earn her first career assist.
 
Sam Houston – September 3, 7 p.m. - Prichett Field – Huntsville, Texas
 
The Vaqueros will face Sam Houston (SHSU) Bearkats Thursday at 7 p.m. at Prichett Field.
 
UTRGV is (1-2-1) all-time against Sam Houston. This will be the first time the Vaqueros play the Bearkats since a 1-1 draw in 2022.
 
Both teams are familiar with one another since their days in the Western Atlantic Conference (WAC).
