2010 Season
Indoor- Sarmiento competed in two outdoor meets…finished seventh at the Houston All-Comers meet in the high jump with a leap of 1.60 meters…at the Great West Conference Outdoor Championships she finished first in the high jump with a leap of 1.66 meters…Outdoor- competed in six meets during the outdoor season…had four top-five finishes…had her season best performance at the Victor Lopez Classic where she leaped 1.65 meters in the high jump which placed her fifth…at the Cactus Cup finished second in the high jump with a leap of 1.53 meters…finished third at the Rice Twilight meet with a leap of 1.62 meters…finished second at the Great West Conference Outdoor Championships with a leap of 1.64 meters.
2009 Season
Indoor – Tied her career best on two occasions – Leonard Hilton Memorial and UH All-Comers meet with a leap of 5-5…recorded a 5-3.75 at the Texas A&M Invitational for a tie for seventh…ranks second in the record books for her 5-5 performance…Outdoor – Tied her indoor mark with a 5-5 leap at the Great West Outdoor Championships…collected five top-10 finishes…captured a first place finish at the Cactus Cup with a mark of 5-2.25...earned Bronc Pride 3.0 Club honors.
2008 Season
Indoor – Earned a spot in the record books in the high jump for recording a height of 5-2.25 at the Leonard Hilton Memorial…Outdoor – earned a title at the Border Olympics in the high jump with a height of 5-3…finished fourth overall in the high jump at the Texas State Open with a height of 5-2.25…notched a fifth-place finish at the Javelina Invitational with a height of 5-2.25.
Progreso High School
Sarmiento was a stand-out athlete for the Progreso Red Ants...earned four letters in basketball, three in volleyball and two in track and field...made it to 1st team All-District in basketball and volleyball her sophomore and junior seasons...was Newcomer of the Year for volleyball and basketball...was Offensive Player of the Year for basketball and volleyball during her senior campaign...made it to the playoffs for volleyball during the 2005 season...finished in 2nd at state in the high jump.
Off the Track
Sarmiento is the daughter of Ruben and Silvia Sarmiento...born on Sept. 7, 1989…has one brother – Michael…majoring in accounting.
