Competed in all four meets ...  placed 19th at the UTSA Ricardo Romo/Six Flags Fiesta Texas Classic with a time of 16:05 ... posted a 19th place finish at the Islander Splash with a time of 28:27 ... recorded a time of 32:41.8 at the Chilli Pepper Cross Country Festival for a 145th place finish ... finished 39th at the Great West Conference Championships with a time of 27:54.26.

Eagle Pass High School
Cantu earned three varsity letters in cross country and three in track and field. He was district champion, regional runner-up, and state qualifier in cross country. As part of the track team, he earned a district and regional runner-up titles in the 800-meter run; Cantu was also part of the 4x400-meter relay that won the regional championship.
