Outdoor - The UTPA junior earned four top-10 finishes during the outdoor track and field season... finished seventh overall in the 3,000 meters with a career-best time of 10:54.07 at the Texas Twilight... finished eighth overall at the Border Olympics with a time of 5:12.85 in the 1,500 meters... recorded a mark of 19:02.38 in the 5,000 meters at the ASU/David Noble Relays... earned a 10th-place finish at the Texas Invitational with a time of 10:48.09 in the 3,000 meters... Indoor - Garcia recorded a pair of top-10 finishes, including fourth-place laurels at the Wes Kittley Invitational with a time of 11:38.83 in the 3,000 meters... notched an eighth-place finish at the Wes Kittley Six-Way with a mark of 2:33.53 in the 800-meter race... posted a season-best mark of 11:21.32 in the 3,000 meters at the UH/RunSport All-Comers Meet where she finished 16th overall.

Cross Country - Garcia competed in all five meets during her junior campaign with the Lady Broncs... was the first Lady Bronc to cross the finish line at the National Independent Cross Country Championships where she finished with a time of 18:22.82 en route to earning 28th-place honors... finished 24th overall at the Texas Lutheran Invitational with a time of 24:47.00 in the 6,000-meter race... Outdoor - Garcia recorded a season-best mark of 10:55.67 in the 3,000 meters at the Border Olympics en route to earning fifth-place honors... placed second overall at the Houston Invitational with a time of 11:14.60 in the 3,000 meters... earned fourth-place laurels at the Spira Invitational with a mark of 5:14.58 in the 1,500 meters... notched a personal-best mark of 18:51.73 in the 5,000 meters at the Rice Twilight... Indoor - The UTPA sophomore finished 12th overall at the Houston Indoor Classic with a time of 11:09.35 in the 3,000 meters.

Cross Country - The UTPA sophomore had her best finish at the Whataburger/UTSA Invitational where she crossed the finish line in 21:05.00 in the 5,000 meters... earned 29th-place laurels with a time of 20:42.00 at the Texas State Invitational... Outdoor - Garcia finished fourth overall at the Whataburger/UTSA Relays with a time of 10:58.67 in the 3,000-meter race... finished fourth overall with a time of 11:04.24 in the 3,000 meters at the Angela Proctor Classic... notched a fifth-place finish at the Border Olympics with a mark of 4:59.85 in the 1,500 meters... Indoor - Garcia placed 13th overall in the two-mile race with a time of 11:05.57 at the Houston/RunSport All-Comers Meet.

2003
Cross Country - Garcia finished as the Lady Broncs[apos] top runner in five of the six meets that she competed... posted a third-place finish at the Whataburger/UTSA Invitational as well as earned 12th-place laurels at the National Independent Cross Country Championships.

A product of J.W. Nixon High School, Garcia was a two-time Most Valuable Player for the cross country team... placed seventh in the state meet during her senior season... was the district champion in both the one-mile and two-mile race en route to earning MVP honors for the track and field squad during her senior season... was a four-time regional qualifier... graduated with honors.

Garcia is the daughter of Armando and Norma Garcia... was born on Oct. 13, 1984... majoring in occupational therapy.
