2008-09 Season [Junior]
Valera earned a spot on the starting lineup in the first four contests of the season (started in 10 total games)....ranked second in rebounds (101), rebounds per game (3.7) and blocked shots (6); third in free throw attempts (69) and free throws made (44); fourth amongst the squad in field-goal percentage (.505), field-goals made (53); fifth in points scored (150) and points per game (5.6); and seventh in free throw percentage (.638)...scored a career-high 16 points versus Huston-Tillotson (Jan. 5) on 5-of-6 shooting from the field and a career-high 6-of-7 shooting from the line along with a career-high 10 blocks...collected three games in double-digit points...scored at least one point in 26 of 27 games played...concluded his first campaign with the Broncs with 5.6 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.

2006-2008 [Marshalltown CC]
Valera led the Tigers to a first round Division I Region XI Tournament appearance...finished first on the squad in rebounds (198); second in points scored (287); third in scoring average 9.9. points per game...appeared in 29 games for the Tigers...was a 2008 Region XI honorable mention award winner in his final season...in his first season at Marshalltown, appeared in 17 contests....averaged eight points and seven rebounds per game.
