2006 Season (Freshman)
Vij spent the 2006 season with the University of New Orleans men's tennis program, but did not compete due to the season being suspended by the Devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

Makelanrinne Sports High School
A standout in his home country of Finland, Vij was one of the top junior players where he was a member of the finnish Junior National Team from 1996 through the 2003 season... reached the Round of 16 at the National Men's Tennis Championships in Finland for the Under-18 Division... was an ITF junior- ranked athlete while attending Makelanrinne Sports High School... ranked second in the nation during his Under-16 Division career and finished second on both the national team and at the National Men's Tennis Championships... finished third on a pair of occasions at the Nationals Men's Tennis Championships during his Under-14 career.

Vij is the son of Ranesh Vij and Tuula Toiviainen... was born on Jan. 17, 1985... has one sister... majoring in engineering... chose UTPA over Texas Tech, Marquette and South Florida.
