2019 (Graduate Student): Led the WAC in opponents’ batting averaging during conference play (.186) by allowing just 19 hits, 13 fewer than any other starter and 17 of which were singles … Only starter in conference not to allow a home run during WAC play … Ranked fifth in strikeouts per game during WAC play at 9.71 … Earned UTRGV Comeback Player of the Year honors (5/5) … Racked up career-high 11 strikeouts in 6.1 innings to beat California Baptist (4/19) … Retired first 13 batters while striking out nine in one-hit, complete game shutout of Northern Colorado (3/30) … Started and pitched three scoreless innings in debut at No. 7 Texas (3/5).
2015-18 (West Virginia): Won 10 games with a 4.53 ERA in four seasons, racking up 118 strikeouts in 135 innings … As a freshman, earned Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team honors … On the mound pitched in 18 games (seven starts), posting a 3.88 ERA with 47 strikeouts in 55.2 innings … As a sophomore, won seven games and had one save with a 4.44 ERA in 20 games (four starts) … Struck out 40 in 48.2 innings and went on the earn Big 12 All-Tournament Team honors … Started all six of his appearances in 2017, winning three games and striking out 26 in 27.2 innings … While warming up for a start at Oklahoma State in April, broke the humerus in his right arm, ending his season … Tried to come back from the injury in 2018, but pitched in only five games before a shoulder injury ended his season.
2011-14 (Marcus High School): Ranked the No. 555 right-handed pitcher nationally, the No. 168 player in Texas, and the No. 66 right-handed pitcher in Texas by Perfect Game … As a senior, went 5-4 with a 1.35 ERA, striking out 71 in 52 innings en route to Perfect Game Texas Region Honorable Mention … As a junior, struck out 15 batters in a game twice, including during a no-hitter against Denton Ryan … Earned All-District First Team recognition during each of his final two seasons.
