2001 (Sophomore Season): Will be one the players competing for the starting catchers spot vacated by Jesse Gutierrez... Played in 10 games last year before a mid-season bout with mononucleosis ended his season... Was a High School All-American at Bradenton Christian Academy in Bradenton, Fla... A great instinctive catcher... Also a strong student who was named to the UTPA Athlete Directors Honor Rolls last year.

2000 (Freshman Season): Struggled at the plate in his first season in Edinburg, but showed signs of the form that earned him All-American honors in high school at times, especially on the defensive side... His first collegiate hit was a solo home run against the University of Illinois (2/26)... In just his second collegiate game, Flynn received the start at catcher against Louisiana-Monore (2/5)... Picked up his only other extra start base hit, a double against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (3/4)... Was just starting to pick up steam when his season ended, going three for last 10 at-bats... made no error in 63 opportunities.

Bradenton Christian Academy: At Bradenton Christian Academy, Flynn was a four-year letter winner in varsity baseball and three year letter winner in varsity soccer... In his junior and senior season in baseball, Flynn was named All-Area, All-Conference, and All-State... His senior year, Flynn hit .651 with 15 home runs 33 runs scored, and 50 RBI earning him Team MVP and Defensive Player of the Year as voted on by his teammates... Flynn finished his high school career as the all time leader in home runs at Bradenton Christian Academy.

Personal: Flynn is the son of Gayle Anne and Thomas Patrick Flynn... Was born on January 16, 1981... Was a member of the Tampa Bay Titans AAU Team and the American Legion post 24 in Bradenton, Fla... major in marketing.
