Will compete for the starting second base job with the graduation of Gabe de la Garza...  Versatile player who can play nearly any infield position.

Cedar Valley Junior College: As a sophomore, Farek hit .365 with 13 doubles and four home runs for CVJC... For his play, he was a first team All-Metro Athletic Conference selection and first team all-region selection... He drove in 40 runs and also had nine stolen bases for CVJC.

Crockett High School: Earned numerous honors at Crockett High School... Was named All-State in 1998 and was named a first team all-district selection in both 1997 and 1998... Led CHS to the Texas State Championship... Batted .480 as a senior with three home runs... Also had an 8-3 record on the mound... Also played for the CHS Football Team.

Personal: Farek is the son of Thea Daigle and Gary Farek... born on August 18, 1980... Has three siblings, Glenn, Kaycie and Halie... Was a member of the Honors Program in CHS... Majoring in kinesiology.
