Hensley made quite a name for himself around the state of Texas during his career at Van Horn High School...was the runner-up at the Texas 2A State Championship as a junior...finished third in the state the following season...captured six Northern Texas Junior PGA Series events...shot a career low 66 in July 2003 at the Texas State Junior Golf Tournament...was the runner-up at the Westcott Area Championship, Green Tree Junior Classic and Texas State PGA...captured the Big Bend Invitational and Fort Stockton Invitational during his junior season...was the quarterback for the football team...earned six letters in high school-four in golf and two in football.
