The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women’s soccer team announced on June 8, 2021 that it has hired Alyssa Gregory, who spent the last two seasons as the assistant coach at the University of the Ozarks, as an assistant coach.

Gregory helped lead the Eagles to a playoff appearance in 2021 for the first time since 2015. Gregory led all goalkeeper sessions while helping with the organization of the defense. Gregory got her first taste of head coaching experience when she stepped in for her head coach, who took maternity leave in the fall of 2019, while also organizing trips and recruiting.

Prior to her time at the University of the Ozarks, Gregory was the goalkeeper coach at Park Hill High School in Kansas City, Missouri. Gregory was responsible for the development of individual goalkeepers and conducting training sessions.

Gregory played four seasons of collegiate soccer after playing two seasons at Emporia State University and two seasons at Park University. Gregory helped her team at Park to two postseason appearances while starting in goal in 14 matches as a junior and 16 matches as a senior. Gregory wrapped up her career at Park with 10 career shutouts, 85 saves, and a 1.17 goals against average.

Gregory earned her Bachelor of Science in Health and Fitness from Park University in 2019.
